This week, ̽����Ƶ welcomed Zack Kass, former Head of Go-To-Market at OpenAI and renowned AI futurist, for a transformative talk on artificial intelligence and its impact on our world. Kass brought 14 years of expertise in AI to a packed auditorium of students and faculty, with SAS parents joining live online. His presentation, titled "The Next Renaissance," shed light on the rapid evolution of AI and what it means for the next generation.

“Your lives are going to be exceptional,” Kass began, addressing the students directly. He painted a picture of a world transformed by AI, where technology’s affordability will unlock unparalleled human potential. Kass highlighted the dramatic decrease in the cost of AI tools. This, he argued, would democratize access to AI, allowing its benefits to reach businesses, governments, and individuals worldwide.

 

 

“Every industrial revolution brings massive economic growth,” Kass explained, “but this one will also empower people in ways we can’t yet fully imagine.” From solving global challenges like climate change and disease to expanding educational access through AI tutors, Kass’s vision was both bold and optimistic.

 

 

Kass’s key advice for our students? Cultivate human-centric skills like empathy, adaptability, and curiosity. “Learn how to learn,” Kass urged, as he described the rapid pace of change students will encounter in their careers. Traditional paths of study and work, he noted, may no longer align with future job markets. Instead, Kass encouraged students to stay adaptable and pursue their passions with vigor. “The practice of learning isn’t just about acquiring skills,” he said, “it’s about opening yourself to new ideas and embracing change.”

Throughout his talk, Kass radiated optimism, challenging students to focus on good news amid an often negative media landscape. “Today is the best day to be born,” he proclaimed, “and tomorrow will be even better.”
