Opening: Building your critical network
In this session, participants will engage in a series of structured engagements with fellow attendees, with a focus on the importance of building a diverse professional network of senior colleagues.
Session 1: From School Administrator to CEO
This session explores how the job of Head of School has changed over the last two decades due to shifting stakeholder expectations, the advent of generative technologies, an evolving geopolitical/economic arena, generational shifts in employee expectations, and developments in cognitive and behavioral sciences. Strategies for planning and management will be discussed.
Session 2: Building Systems and Data Culture
This session explores critical features of high functioning institutions and strategies for building and sustaining adaptive learning organizations. Examples will be provided that can be adapted to participants' professional contexts.
Session 3: Crisis and Emergency Management and Continuity of Operations/Learning Planning
This session explores the fundamentals of crisis and emergency management, including internationally recognized protocols and practices, EM frameworks and tools, and essential mitigation and preparedness strategies. Real case studies are at the center of this engagement.
Session 1: The Heads Essential Reading List
This session will focus on building a cross-disciplinary, cross-industry tool kit of essential management concepts and skills, including Logic Modeling and the disciplines of strategic and operational execution.
Session 2: Change Management for Academic Programs
This session will focus on evaluating and developing academic programs aligned to strategic direction in schools, highlighting key strategies for impactful and durable change within organizations. Evaluative frameworks, contextualized through case studies, will be provided.
Session 3: Government Relations
This session will focus on the nuts and bolts of successful government relations, including how to build meaningful partnerships and avoid compromising situations and untenable asks.
Session 4: Performance Leadership-Elevating Your Team
This session explores how to develop various levels of school leadership and build a 鈥渄eeper bench鈥 as a way to mitigate uncertainty in recruitment and retention.
Closing: Brave enough to Lead
This session will explore the hallmarks of successful Head of School/Board relationships.
